Guys Camping! (June 20th-22nd)

This was a very fun trip, filled with beer, fishing, burgers, swimming, and of course cheesy potatoes.

We began the journey to Canada pretty early. Ben and I watched Ong Bak in the car while vikram slept and rito drove. We made it safely across the border, and the very first exit we took was straight to the LCBO. We knew we had to get it started, and soon. So we got a few fifths and headed off again. With some good miles behind us on a country road we ended up at the beer store. It was a pretty cool store inside a store. And we realized there was an LCBO there too, oh well. This store and some pretty crazy things, a playing piano, and some antiques. They were all for sale, and seemed like they were there for years. We headed off with our beers, getting more and more anxious to get to the campsite. On the way there, we saw some really big windmills.

We finally made it to the campsite, it only took us probably 5 hours or so. We quickly set up our tents, and popped open the beers. We had to start this trip off right. After all that fun stuff, we set off to discover what was around the area. We decided to walk, but quickly realized this place was way too big to just walk everywhere. So we hopped in the van and drove down to the beach. There were some really cool sand dunes, and lots of drift wood.

We started to skip rocks, I think ben won with 8 or 9 skips. That's pretty impressive.

Theres much more, but I have to go to work. so this is TBC

Alliterations

Update: I realized I made mine Adventures of Alex because John's was Journeys with Johnny, Because everyone likes alliterations.

Roadtrip to Chicago (Or Land O' Lakes)

So this actually happened the weekend of the 13th-15th of June.

Here it goes... I went to visit my awesome friend Julianne Schupbach in Antioch, Illinois. Elise, Laura, Tiffany and I got on the road and drove all the way there. That was the most exciting part of the trip. Actually, We found ourselves getting lost on the toll road and had to turn around a few times. That got interesting, and a bit expensive. Anyhow, we finally made it to the cottage.

The lake had actually been flooding due to all the rain that had fallen. That was pretty crazy.

You can just imagine where the water level should be, that tire swing and that picnic table are both supposed to be on grass. Obviously, that isn't the case anymore.

We made some friends, like with "Todd" or Jadah. Whom I guess I really didn't like. I'm told I kept telling her I hated asian people. So since she was asian, I guess I hated her. Frankly, I don't remember any of that. But that doesn't mean it never happened. The first night I went for a swim, in the dark, and beat up my shins a little bit. I was told I kept taking my shirt on and off. Knowing me, I would understand the taking the shirt off part. Sometime I just like to dance, without my shirt. Or it gets hot. But on and off, I am really confused about that. Anyway, the next day I was told that I should ask permission when taking my shirt off. Hence "Is this an appropriate time?"

That day we basically sat around on the boat, We probably hung out there for a good two or three hours. Everytime someone got off the boat, they didn't get back on, well other than Elise. We actually came up with a really awesome game after we were finished on the boat. It was pretty intense, and was like waterfall, only ten times better. That game also took a really really long time, and we got to boss our friends around. It was quite interesting.

At this point, I'm thinking that If you are still reading this post, then You need to find something better to do. But If there really isn't anything else, I will continue.

We rode around on the golf cart a bunch of times, that was one of the coolest things. We just got to drive around on a golf cart, drinks in hand. I'm sure you could only imagine. Juliannes uncle was really really cool, they'd go to the store and bring cases and cases of presents. Overall it was a really really great time, and I don't think there was anything I didn't like about it.

Oh before I forget, there's also the case of the tree.

This tree

So I was standing on the back patio when this was taken, If you looked over to the right, the house was right there. This fell down between friday and saturday. So we were all probably sleeping. If this tree had fallen down the other direction, you could probably guess what would have happened. Hmmm I guess we were all pretty lucky...

hahaha

by the way I made this because I saw John made an adventures of John Lin blog... or something to that extent. I just remembered I made this, and I hadn't written in it for a while. So this is when I'm supposed to talk about cool things that happened and such, but I'm gonna add a few more posts just to make me seem cooler than I actually am. I might even throw in some cool pictures.

Tigers Sweep White Sox

So today the Tigers swept the White Sox, slowly progressing and getting hits. I was excited to see Nate Robertson pitch Tuesday night and the Tigers win the first game of the series. Next up is the Dodgers, which I am not going to get to go to now because I am going to Chicago! Hopefully we will continue to play as well as we have. The pitching by the starters has been amazing lately. I am getting excited that the teams coming together. Well the next post will probably be about road tripping, to East Lansing, and then on the way to Chicago.
